On 21 January 2019, in the context of the FITUR International Tourism Fair, held in Madrid, Spain, three companies signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism:
The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UNWTO.
Five companies from Turkey signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on 3 December 2018 in the context of the 3rd UNWTO/UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture, held in Istanbul, Turkey. The signing was held in the presence of H.E. Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Pascal Lamy, Chair of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics and Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO Secretary-General.
On 20 September 2018, in the context of the Tourism EXPO Japan 2018, TOBU TOPTOURS Co., Ltd. and ASAHI TRAVEL INTERNATIONAL Inc. signed the Commitment. The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Hiroshi Tabata, Commissioner of the Japan Tourism Agency - Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UNWTO.
In June 2017, on the occasion of the Conference on Sustainable Tourism in the Danube Region, held in Belgrade, Serbia, eight Serbian entities became signatories of the Commitment. The ceremony was held in the presence of UNWTO Secretary-General, Mr. Taleb Rifai.

On the occasion of UNWTO Masterclass on "Attracting Chinese Tourism to the Mediterranean Countries" which was held in Valletta, Malta, six Maltese entities signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics on 24 May 2017 in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General.
