First Signing Ceremony of the Global Code of Ethics of 2019

On 21 January 2019, in the context of the FITUR International Tourism Fair, held in Madrid, Spain, three companies signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism:

  • Status Travel, a touroperator from Ecuador;
  • Viajes AGT, a travel agency from the Dominican Republic; and
  • Artiem Hotels, from Spain.

The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UNWTO.

Five companies from Turkey signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on 3 December 2018 in the context of the 3rd UNWTO/UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture, held in Istanbul, Turkey. The signing was held in the presence of H.E. Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Pascal Lamy, Chair of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics and Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO Secretary-General.
